8-Month Innovation Process

We take you on a journey through our 8-month creative innovation process that not only helps you come up with exciting new ideas but also involves your customers and incorporates outside constraints in a fun and engaging way. This creative approach to innovation is different in a few areas that are important if you want to redefine your market space in a revolutionary way. This is an intense process that people truly engage with. It does require an honest assessment of your company’s goals and dedication to innovation.

  1. The process takes 8 months. This is the same amount of time it takes for habits to truly form.

  2. The customers are engaged within their areas of expertise for their values, not with an idea already formed by your organization.

  3. The customer's constraints are reviewed with the customer on prototypes before upper management. If you are redefining the market, the market’s constraints are more important than internal views.

  4. Rapid prototyping is needed and focused on a Mininal Viable Solution. Anything more than that is the next iteration.

  5. A specific geographical area is defined. Developing something new can’t be effectively done on a global scale.

  6. There are 5 team members that do more than 80% of the work and that is all that they focus on. Their job is to move swiftly with customers’ guidance.

  7. Core team members are onsite during field trials to perform the work, capture data, and translate the cost savings to customers. Nothing is just drop shipped with instructions only.

Below is an overview of the process we discuss in the Breakthrough Thinking™ series.
